Luxury Motorcars is excited to offer an excellent example of a 1997 Acura Integra Type-R. This particular Type R is #30 of 320 cars built for the US market and has been in the possession and ownership of a single family ever since. Power comes from a factory modified 1.8-liter VTEC inline-four packed full of race-inspired technology, such as higher compression ratio, high-strength lightweight connecting rods, reshaped intake valves, high-lift camshafts, a larger throttle body, a high-volume exhaust manifold and molybdenum-coated aluminum piston, all delivered to the ground via a factory close-ratio five-speed manual transmission.
The Vehicle received a full glass-out bare metal repaint in a beautiful coat of factory original Championship White, and it is worth noting that the vin tags are absent from hood, front bumper, as well as the front fenders. However, this example bears a clean carfax and autocheck report from new without any accidents or damage reported. Included with the sale is the Original window sticker and sales brochure, accompanied by every service record available during its ownership period with its original family. There was a major service performed by Niello Acura of Roseville, CA in July of 2019, during which there was a new timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and valve cover gasket installed - as well as a valve adjustment performed.
Also included with this Type-R are many original spare components that have been used at some point in its life, of which include: Original Spare tire, flywheel, air filters, and all the way down to spark plugs. In addition, some aftermarket modifications include such items as: stainless steel brake lines, an ACT clutch/pressure plate, a lightened flywheel, and a MagnaFlow catalytic converter. The vehicle was put on a Dyno in November of 2014 at Driving Ambition of Rancho Cordova, California, and the output sheet included in the picture gallery lists peaks of 175.5 horsepower and 114.7 lb-ft of torque.
The Acura Integra Type-R continues to uphold its legendary status as one of the best sport compact cars in history. While we will certainly be sad to see it go, we know that it will be thoroughly enjoyed by the next enthusiast who is fortunate enough to bring it into their collection.
